heute fand die 8. Tagung der omanischen-irakischen Joint Ausschuss en im City Seasons Hotel statt. Die omanischen Seite im Ausschuss wurde unter dem Vorsitz Ingenieur Salim bin Mohammed al-Nuaimi, Staatssekretär des Ministeriums für Verkehr und Kommunikation  geleitet während der irakischen Seite wurde von Dr. Fadhil Nabi Othman, Unterstaatssekretär im Finanzministerium in den Irak geleitet .

Zum Abschluss des zweitägigen Treffen unterzeichneten die beiden Seiten Protokoll der Sitzung, in der die  Zusammenarbeit  einer Reihe von Bereichen wie Handel, Industrie, Wirtschaft, Investitionen, Bildung, Hochschulbildung, Sport, Landwirtschaft, IT, Transport inbegriffen und Kommunikation beschlossen wurden.

Ingenieur Salim bin Mohammed al-Nuaimi sagte, dass die omanischen und irakische Seiten um die Bedeutung des Handels Austausch zu maximieren die vereinbarung getroffen haben, dass der  Ausbau und die Verbesserung des Austauschs von Wissen und Besuche zwischen Handel Delegationen, die Förderung der Industrie-und Handelskammern und die Industrie auf die kommerziellen und industriellen Potenziale für Förderung des privaten Sektors in das Sultanat und die Republik Irak und der Teilnahme an internationalen und spezialisierten Ausstellungen, die in beiden Ländern abgehalten werden. Sie vereinbarten ferner,  der Mitgliedern des omanischen-irakische Business Council zu benenen.
The meetings of the 8th session of the Omani-Iraqi Joint Committee concluded at the City Seasons Hotel here today. The Omani side at the Committee was chaired by Eng. Salim bin Mohammed al-Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Transport and Communications Ministry while the Iraqi side was chaired by Dr. Fadhil Nabi Othman, Undersecretary of the Finance Ministry in Iraq. 

At the conclusion of the two-day meetings, the two sides signed minutes of the meeting which included cooperation in a number of fields, such as commerce, industry, economy, investment, education ,higher education, sports, agriculture, IT, transport and communications.

Eng. Salim bin Mohammed al-Nuaimi said that the Omani and Iraqi sides agreed on the importance of trade exchange through expanding and enhancing the exchange of knowledge and visits between trade delegations, encouraging the chambers of commerce and industry to promote the commercial and industrial potentials for the private sector in the Sultanate and the Republic of Iraq and participating in international and specialized exhibitions which are held in both countries. They also agreed to name the members of the Omani-Iraqi business council.

The meetings of the 8th session of the Omani-Iraqi Joint Committee concluded at the City Seasons Hotel here today. The Omani side at the Committee was chaired by Eng. Salim bin Mohammed al-Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Transport and Communications Ministry while the Iraqi side was chaired by Dr. Fadhil Nabi Othman, Undersecretary of the Finance Ministry in Iraq.

At the conclusion of the two-day meetings, the two sides signed minutes of the meeting which included cooperation in a number of fields, such as commerce, industry, economy, investment, education ,higher education, sports, agriculture, IT, transport and communications.

Eng. In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), he added that the Iraqi side welcomes the Omani companies desiring to bid at the industrial projects tenders in the Republic of Iraq. He pointed out that the Omani side presented an executive programme for the mutual exchanging of precious metals hallmarking, cooperation in the standardization activities, control of precious metals and valuable stones between the Directorate General of Specifications and Standards at the Commerce and Industry Ministry and the Central Authority for Standards, as well as the qualitative control at the Planning Ministry in the Republic of Iraq.

He also added that the two sides agreed to hold an expanded seminar for the development and promotion of investment between the Sultanate and Iraq next year. The two sides agreed to hold the first round of bilateral talks in the coming period to discuss signing the avoidance of double taxation and combating tax evasion agreement.

He added that the two sides agreed to cooperate in the field of outcomes, free zones, organizing training courses and seminars, exchange of expertise and visits among specialists in both countries.

He pointed out that the two sides agreed on the date and venue for the negotiations round about the agreement for the encouragement and mutual protection of investment. The two sides also expressed their desire to cooperate in the field of agriculture and irrigation. The Iraqi side also expressed its desire to review the Sultanate's experience in the field of e-government, e-tenders, administrative development and statistics.

The Undersecretary of the Transport and Communications Ministry and Head of the Omani side in the in the joint committee added that the two sides agreed to exchange expertise and information in the field of meteorology and earthquake monitoring. The two sides expressed their desire to operate direct flights between the two countries through the national carriers. They also expressed desire to operate a marine route that links the Omani ports with the Iraqi ports.

They expressed their satisfaction over the existing cooperation in the field of sports and youth and expressed their desire for more cooperation through organizing youth camps and friendly games.

The signing ceremony of the minutes was attended by the Iraqi ambassador to the Sultanate and members of the Omani-Iraqi Joint Committee.
